How it works
One record, and the right people around it
Hestles is organised around each home: what's in it, what's happening to it, and who's involved.
Start with the home
Add an address and Hestles sets up a record for it: rooms, appliances and systems, documents, insurance details and photos. Fill it in as you go.
Keep track of what's coming up
Warranty dates, servicing and other reminders appear in one list. Warranty dates are the ones you've recorded — Hestles doesn't confirm what's covered.
Report it, fix it, keep the record
Anyone involved can report a problem. The property team hears about it, a contractor can be invited with a link — no account needed — and the job moves from report to visit to done, with messages and photos kept on the job.
Everyone sees their part
Owners, managers, tenants and contractors each have their own view. Access follows the relationship: when a tenancy ends or someone leaves a team, their access ends and the record stays for the people who still need it.
For tenants
If your landlord or property manager uses Hestles, they'll invite you. You can report problems with photos, follow what's happening, message the property team, and keep your tenancy documents and condition records. When your tenancy ends, you keep read-only access to your own reports and messages from your time there.
Optional help from AI
Capture reads a photo or document you choose and suggests details for you to check. Nothing is saved until you confirm it. It's off until you turn it on, and it uses OpenAI.
Ask Hestles answers questions from your own records. Its answers aren't legal, financial, insurance or trade advice.
Property Tags
A Property Tag is a QR code for a property. Scanning it shows only what the property's team chooses to share — never tenants' details — and people signed in to Hestles see what their role allows. Tags can be turned off at any time. About the Home Kit
What Hestles doesn't do
- It isn't an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number: 111 in New Zealand, 000 in Australia, 911 in the United States and Canada, 999 in the United Kingdom.
- It doesn't give advice. Nothing in Hestles is legal, tenancy, financial, insurance or trade advice.
- It doesn't handle money between people. Rent, bonds, deposits and payments to contractors stay between you and them.
- It doesn't check contractors' licences or insurance. What a business says about itself is shown as its own statement.
